the benefits of mindfulness at work

When mindfulness becomes part of how we work, we show up differently. We notice stress before it takes over, create space to pause, and respond with greater clarity and composure. This individual awareness ripples outward—shaping culture, improving collaboration, and strengthening overall performance.

how we teach
integrating mindfulness at every level

Through ongoing workshops, Point of Contact helps teams build lasting habits of awareness and self-regulation. We work directly with organizations— in person, online, and through recorded resources — to integrate mindfulness into daily culture. Each session strengthens emotional intelligence, supports mental health, and sustains performance across every level of your company.

an introduction
what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally paying attention to the present moment. It invites us to notice what’s happening in our mind-body system and our surrounding environment without rushing to change or judge it. In a workplace context, this means developing the capacity to observe emotion and thought as they arise, so we can respond with clarity instead of reacting automatically.

When applied to work, mindfulness becomes more than a personal practice; it’s a leadership and cultural practice. It strengthens our ability to regulate the nervous system, improves emotional intelligence, and cultivates a steadier baseline from which to think, communicate, and make decisions. Teams who embody mindfulness are better able to manage pressure, listen deeply, and maintain presence even amid complexity.

In practice, this might look like a manager pausing to ground themselves before a difficult conversation, a team taking a few mindful breaths before a high-stakes meeting, or an organization creating space in the week for reflection rather than constant reaction. These small shifts accumulate—reducing stress, improving focus, and making communication more thoughtful and grounded.

At its core, mindfulness reconnects us with something simple yet powerful: our capacity to be fully here, now. From that presence, leaders and teams can operate with more clarity, compassion, and effectiveness in everything they do.

This retreat changed how I live and work

Since the retreat with Jack and Louis, One of the things I’m now doing at work is giving people a reminder that a lot of the pressure we feel is self-imposed. And letting them know “you don’t need to be so hard on yourself”. I’m giving people more permission around giving people help and permission. It’s given me permission to be human.

I'm giving myself permission now more than ever.

Slowing down has been my biggest breakthrough from the retreat with Jack and Louis. I’ve become very conscious and aware of it and I’m giving myself permission to not try to get everything done in a day.

The trip challenged me in the best way possible

Chris and his team were the perfect guides for this fun and transformational experience. Chris is in his element in a canoe and in the Algonquin terrain. He pushed us while allowing us the space to learn and grow. We ate well, were supplied with all the equipment we would need, and always felt safe. Reach out to Chris and his teamand see how they can create an experience that will touch your soul!

I overcame my entrepreneurial overwhelm

In situations where i previously wasn't doing a good job of taking control (ie. a moment of entrepreneurial overwhelm, self-sabotage) - I didn't have the tools to stop those interactions. Now, that’s completely changed.

I had such a great, transformative time

I left for the trip feeling pulled away from my life (work/wife/kids/etc) and I came back feeling refreshed and given another chance to enjoy life.

CK and his crew are awesome. They managed to guide, care for, and feed a group of 30 without a hitch. This was a trip for a mens' empowerment group and we ate like kings every day.

CK was able to bring such a vibe and skill that even the most "manly man" was willing to talk about the challenges they've had and to help each other heal and grow.

A sense of safety that allowed me to bring down my walls

From the moment everyone was together, Louis and Jack created a warm, open, and accepting environment for everyone.

There was an immediate sense of safety that allowed me to bring down my walls and truly explore myself and express it.

Details were meticulous. Every morning, there were sessions to settle into yourself for the experiences of the day. I would encourage anyone looking to deepen their self-awareness and care to do so with skilled guides to not think twice about attending a POC retreat. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wanted more time with the incredible men who attended the retreat.
